Resumé for Nick Fitzhugh
Summary
Filmmaker. DP. Photographer.
Storytelling, entrepreneurship and cross-cultural understanding have long been the passions that have driven my life. Stories allow us to share and understand experiences which in turn enable us to overlook the differences between us and instead see commonalities. Stories allow us to understand one another and the world around us. I want to be among those finding the most powerful and transformative stories and sharing them in a way that brings them to life for anyone courageous enough for the experience.

Recommendations
“I consulted with and co-managed Nick, and was chairman of the board of Glimpse, once a magazine and now an online service targeted to student travelers. Nick is bright, driven, curious, and entrepreneurial, with design flair to boot. Against all odds, he created a media product with huge potential, saw it through lean years, convinced the National Geographic Society of its value, and led it through a daunting metamorphosis from print to digital. The Society could never give it the care and feeding it needed, and eventually it succumbed to a lack of resources and corporate commitment. Nick would be an asset to any enterprise that values smarts, ingenuity, and a never-take-no attitude. I recommend him highly.” –– Keith Bellows, Editor in Chief, National Geographic Traveler, National Geographic Society
“I have the privilege of working with Nick as his financial consultant at National Geographic Glimpse. During our time together, Nick has repeatedly demonstrated his ability to run a complex business in a challenging financial environment. He is forward thinking, extremely motivated, and above all focused on the doughnut rather than the hole. Nick would be an asset to any organization. I wish him well in all future endeavors.” –– John Patermaster, Business Manager, National Geographic Society
“Nick was one of my students at Brown University. In particular, I was the sponsor of the independent study that was one of the forerunners of Glimpse Magazine. Nick is exceptionally resourceful and determined. He is careful to consider all aspects of a problem but once he has decided what to do he is relentless in reaching his goal. I admire his energy and his courage.” –– Barrett Hazeltine, Professor, Brown University
“Mr. Fitzhugh is the brains and energy behind Glimpse — in all its many incarnations. With aplomb, he brought it from student endeavor to a successful print and then digital publication in partnership with National Geographic. Plus he’s a nice guy!” –– Howard Gregory Platts, Treasurer, National Geographic Society
“Nick came up with the idea for Glimpse (though I came up with the name
and has been the driving force behind everything it has accomplished both when we were working side-by-side and since, when I transitioned into an advisory role. I am very proud of Nick’s accomplishments and look forward every quarter when a shiny publication arrives in the mail.” –– Alex Kruglov, Chief Marketing Officer, Glimpse Foundation
